Car Insurance

September 5th, 2010

In the UK why is the average fine for not having car insurance under £400 ? Again it pays to not bother following the rat race !

Buy a cheep car, don’t insure it and risk getting caught and fined ! Why oh why is the system soooo stupid, totally don’t blame people for abusing it if it actually makes sense to do so.

Who are the idiots here ? ?

UK Fuel Prices

May 9th, 2010

Filled my boring rep car (read mondeo) up with fuel today. It was £77.50 or $114.76 and I get about 570 miles out of that tank. Glad I don’t do many miles any more !! I’m starting to wonder how long the price can keep going up for ? Wont be long before the fuel in a car is worth more than the car itself ! Also how do families on low incomes cope ?

Either everyone can start walking and riding bikes more (no bad thing) or someone needs to sort out this rocks transportation problem ! But with soo many people making so much money still I doubt it’ll be any time soon.

No more buying any fossil based cars for me.

Avoid it like the plague. Rude reception and frankly fraudulant billing practices!

Staying there this weekend, more info on my return.

iPhone 3G … getting fed up

October 9th, 2008

Ok so everyone loves the iphone 3G. The hype has no doubt helped make it so popular and thus just over a month ago I got one through work. Now I’ve been using Windows Mobile devices since the Compaq Aero PDA that was black and white ! I’ve probably had over 30 PDAs and phones over the years so coming to the iphone 3G was interesting. It’s got to be said that the hardware is amazing. I love having a Word document viewer, MP3 player, phone, calander and emails all on one very well made device. It works very nicely and taking and making calls on it is great. There’s no delay in pressing buttons like on a Windows Mobile PDA.

To tell the truth I’m already getting a bit sick of it. The lack of freedom is ruining it.

Why can’t I share the data connection on it ?
Why can’t I use sat nav on it ?

Because Apple have decided that we don’t need it. Personaly I don’t think that’s got anything to do with them. And as such I’m still using my HTC Touch Diamond. Why on earth do we have to put up with this ? ! Why on earth have Apple restricted all users to these rules ?

I’m off to Jailbreak my phone in the hope of being able to use it how I (the owner) wants to.

Buying Review – Pixmania

July 5th, 2008

Recently purchased a camera from pixmania.co.uk and personally I’m going to avoid them like the plague. Their backend systems are just crazy slow … and I mean crazzzyy slow. I’ve ordered from them in the past and received my items next day so I thought I’d get the same treatment. Well apparently not -

1. Item ordered July 1st at about 11am.
2. By 5pm on the same day their site was showing no progress at all. Thinking there might be a payment issue I called them. Sounds like an India call as I could hardly understand what the lady was saying when I spoke to her. Turns out that there is nothing wrong but I should call back tomorrow as the “Validation” part takes 24 hours.
3. July 2nd they appeared to do nothing at all.
4. July 3rd it showed as validated and all the way through the ordering process.
5. July 4th they bothered to ship the item.

What on earth took them 4 working days to ship something they had in stock !!! Either someone messed up somewhere or that’s just the way they do business. I’ll assume it’s the norm for them as they didn’t communicate an issue at any time.

So I defiantly wont be buying from them again anytime soon. You’ve lost me as a customer.

Nero 8 … what’s the point

June 12th, 2008

I’ve used Nero since the days of 5 or possibly before then. I’ve also always paid for the upgrades. But I’m not thinking about Nero 8 and wondering what the point is ! I only use Nero BurningROM and Nero BackItUp, all the other junk doesn’t even get installed. So it there any point in me paying for the upgrade ?

Why not offer a Nero Lite package for people to pay for that just want the basics ? Surely I’m not the only person on the planet that would pay for that ?

Glo Networks Update

May 21st, 2008

Well our company is doing well and it’s time to find some more customers. To do that we need to sort our marketing out. First stop the website: www.glo-networks.com, get the design finished and started up a blog.

Previously we’ve found the blog to be a handy way of communicating our technical abilities without having to clutter the website up. So here it comes again.
